…Turquoise lagoons, pristine coral, abundant sea life, palm fringed beaches... Cook Islands is one of our favorite places in the world. We’ve only had a chance to visit once, but definitely plan on visiting again.
The Cook Islands consist of 15 small islands located on the same latitude as Hawaii (Southern Hemisphere equivalent) so they have a similar climate, flora and fauna. However, the Cook Islands are less known/less visited than Hawaii and it’s South Pacific neighbors (Fiji, Tahiti). So you can enjoy amazing beaches, crystal clear water, fabulous snorkelling/diving, and great hikes without having to deal with crowds, inflated prices, and the other downsides of touristy destinations. The locals are super friendly and you can find some great small boutique hotels that are only meters from the water.
